Caring For Your Copper Jewelry

OPTION 1: Just Go with it.

I totally love the look of patina on my jewelry. So I just let nature take its course. But I know that's not everyone's preference.

OPTION 2: Clean your jewellery daily.

For cleaning your jewellery, there are several good DIYs online about cleaning copper using lemon, vinegar, etc.

You can just use google or youtube and pick one that works with supplies you already have lying around the house. If you eventually need to clean the pendant, you want to be a bit more careful, just because you don't want to scratch the crystal beads or expose them to too much acidity.

OPTION 3 : Sand and buff.

For keeping the shine on your jewellery, you can give it a wash with ultra fine steel wool 000( cheap on amazon) or a fine grit sandpaper, give it a rince and dry, you can then polish with the cloth provided or use a buff (like a nail buffer) and you'll get that new beautiful shine .

To keep your piece looking shiny and new please remove your jewelery before showering and swimming and avoid contact with perfumes/lotions and chemicals.

Store in a dry, cool dark place.

* I oxidise all pendants and rings....using the cleaning solution (lemon,vinegar...) will bring it back to bright copper*

Why Does Copper Turn Skin Green?

When you wear your first piece of copper jewellery, you might be surprised to notice your skin turning a bit green, where the copper bracelet, chain, etc is in contact with your skin. This is totally normal.

Copper reacts naturally with the salt content on our skin, especially when we sweat. Copper also reacts more quickly to acidic environments. This is a blessing in disguise because your pH balance is important for overall health. Take this as a sign to double check your diet, stress, etc. if you notice that your skin turns green almost immediately.
